Organizers are preparing for one of the year’s largest global automotive industry gatherings. Automechanika Shanghai, November 26-29, expects to host a record 7,000 exhibitors.
These exhibitors will fill every corner of the 383,000 sqm Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center.
This edition marks the first time the show has reached such a large scale. This year’s focus includes New Energy Vehicle Technology, which is central to sustainability in the automotive sector.
The trade fair creates opportunities for marketing, trade, education, and exchange that evolve with market trends, according to show organizer, Messe Frankfurt Group.

Expanded Sectors and Zones to Highlight Market Hotspots
Automechanika Shanghai 2025 will showcase products, services and technologies advancing the full automotive ecosystem. This includes R&D, manufacturing, sales and after-sales services across all segments.
Demand for safe, intelligent, and efficient mobility continues rising globally. The fair expands several features for companies targeting high-growth segments, according to Messe Frankfurt Group.
More than half of exhibitors will present products related to New Energy Vehicle Technology development. These include advancements in components, diagnostics, repair, body and paint, accessories and customizing.
Innovation4Mobility and the Future of New Energy Vehicle Technology
The New Energy & Connectivity sector will grow by 50 percent, reaching 39,000 sqm of exhibition space. The area will feature batteries, motors, electric control systems, and energy storage and swapping technologies.
It also includes hydrogen fuel cells, connected driving systems, intelligent chassis and thermal management solutions.
Innovation4Mobility will showcase future-focused products, forums, and start-up activations. The showcase gives a comprehensive view of trends across multiple sectors and industries.
The start-up zone will feature collaborations among research institutes, universities, start-ups, and financial institutions. These groups will present commercial-ready technologies through scenario-based presentations.
Digital Solutions and Smart Mobility Drive Value Chain Evolution
Digital technologies now enable new business models across the automotive value chain. The Digital Services/Solutions zone integrates applications that improve efficiency and reduce aftermarket costs.
Exhibitors here will address cross-border e-commerce, smart logistics and warehousing needs.
This zone will also introduce automatic identification and supply chain management solutions.
The Tyres & Wheels sector will grow its exhibition space by 50 percent this year.
Electric vehicles demand tyre innovations due to weight, acceleration, noise, and battery requirements.
These demands are driving new product development in the sector.
Commercial Vehicles and Emerging Markets Take the Stage
More than 60 percent of exhibitors will feature commercial vehicle-related products and services. This reflects the changing logistics, transportation, and mobility sectors globally.
Other key sectors include Parts & Components, which covers chassis, electronics and remanufacturing.
Additional sectors include Electrics & Electronics, Accessories, Customising, and Diagnostics & Repair/ Body & Paint.
Conferences and Talent Development to Shape Industry Future
The International Automotive Industry Conference 2025 will share insights into trends affecting supply chains and regulations.
This year, organizers will also focus on building up professionals and the Gen Z workforce. The International Automotive Industry Talent Development Conference 2025 will help develop workforce skills.
A new talent development programme will guide participants through changing market skillsets. The Automechanika Shanghai Technology Seminar Series will debut this year.
Experts will discuss electric drive systems, autonomous driving, materials, intelligent chassis, tyres and thermal management.
